Space happenin'

Huygens is giving us an
orange moon to add to our Red planet. And perhaps the first
liquid observed beyond Earth in a place that is hopefully similar to Earth 4 Billion years ago.
On Mars, Opportunity is sniffing around its own remains, in this case
its heat shield. And
Spirit is near a ridge.Deep impact is off on a delightfully simple mission - to set an 800 pound cannon ball in front of a comet and see what happens when it hits. It has the highest resolution cameras ever to be sent that deep into space.

Cheesy video.

Titan Landing
Friday, January 14, 2005
Cassini's probe, Huygens, has landed on Titan and is sending back pictures and data. This is the first landing ever on Titan and the farthest from Earth we've ever successfully landed a spacecraft.

High Resolution Tsunami photos
Friday, January 07, 2005
Strewn amid the mountains of media on the terrible Tsunami lie very few high resolution photos that can really show what happened and to whom. Here's some I've come across:
Military propaganda I know, but very hi-resolution from the Navy Pacific Command site.
More, with particularly strong images of not only the tsunami effects, but how strange American Soldiers look in their alien pilot goggles and suits.
- Rushing the chopper doors
- Air shot with an alien in the left corner
- Surrounding the alien who brings food
- Loading alien
- Houses leveled
- Future soldiers
