This is a really good short movie show, AND edited, on an iPhone 4.

Take away: An exciting leap in video production in the field! And a reminder that the old lessons of film production in terms of light, sound, dolly shots, use of scene slates, location shooting, are also unchanged. Also, there’s only one track of audio on iMovie for iPhone, so they had to do some importing and exporting, but the voices were recorded using the phone.
Below are screenshots with my thoughts in more detail. 
In the right light, resolution looks fantastic. But this is just as much about knowing old school lighting techniques, like how to best use indirect natural light, then it is about the camera.
Very creative pick of content to build into the story, (model trains) to show off the camera’s small size. And very creative camera mounting.
Speed rails like theu use in old school large film camera productions.
This is where we really start to see the “old and new” aspect of this new way to make videos. The camera is tiny, but it’s held by the same equipment that could hold a large film camera for a tracking shot. I suspect it’s from USC’s film school equipment room, which means it’s probably been used on many a student film for decades!
This is fantastic! A clapboard scene slate. I am guessing they used slates because iMovie on the iPhone only has one track for audio. The producers reported in the comments that they recorded the voices in a quiet room, with the iPhone, and then exported with iTunes, mixed with music, and imported to iMovie.
